Mom decided to take a year off from Stanford while her dad was in Thailand during the Vietnam War. She helped her mom take care of her baby brother, volunteered with the Civil Rights movement. Volunteered with the Poverty Program and another organizing project in Centerville, VA. Worked to organize for MLK’s Poor People’s Campaign.

05/06/2022 - Mom goes to the hospital; 5 hour blood transfusion
05/07/2022 - Mom gets discharged from the hospital in the morning, we take her back in the evening, they admit her that night
05/08/2022 - Mother’s Day. Mom repeatedly says “No more chemo.” Dr. Lau brings up hospice.
05/09/2022 - Family meeting at the hospital about hospice. Mom says that’s what she wants to do.
05/12/2022 - Mom is discharged; we set up hospice at home with Mission.
06/05/2022 - Mom passes away at home.
